Collaborating at a Distance
Webconferencing forms a perfect basis for collaborative work, or working at
a distance. The number of participants at this type of meeting is limited
to 4 participants. Next to the presentation facility, collaboration makes
intensive use of application viewing and sharing. Participants at a meeting
can work together to review results in an excel sheet, or to edit a word
document. One of the PC functions as master PC on which the application
runs, and in this way, effects under discussion can be calculated to show
and analyse results in real-time. A whiteboard function allows new ideas
to be explained and recorded on the fly, and can even be edited by all
others participants.
The presenter-rights of the meeting can easily be shared
with the participants during the meeting.

Meeting at a Distance
A Web Meeting is a standard meeting with 3 to 20 participants.
The most important reason to use Webconferencing is being
able to present at a distance. Larger groups can make
handy use of the polling facility, which allows a presentor
to ask a multiple choice question with direct aggregated
results.
The use of chat allows participants to send a quick one-to-one
message to another participant when this is not relevant
to the discussion.
